Lucy M. Cunko, 94, formerly of Steelton and Ecumenical Communities, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at Golden Living, Camp Hill.
She was born December 20, 1917, in Steelton, the daughter of the late Vincent and Raffaela Potami. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Cunko, sisters Angeline Pinizzotto, Theresa Potami, and Blanche Bowie, and brothers Joseph Potami and Samuel Potami.
As the executive secretary for Clifford L. Jones, she retired in 1982 from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, after working many years in the public and private sector at such places as the Departments of Labor and Industry, Commerce and Environmental Resources, PA Manufacturers Association, Pennsylvanians for Effective Government, and the Republican State Committee.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
Surviving is her daughter, Elaine Chavey, son-in-law, Don, and granddaughter, Lauren, of Harrisburg, sisters Mary Pinizzotto of Steelton, Genevieve McKinley and Virginia Magnelli, both of Harrisburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 am Friday, June 15, 2012 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, S. 2nd St., Steelton, Rev. James Lyons and Rev. Anthony Pinizzotto, concelebrants. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
