Madeline Marie Hunter
Madeline Marie Hunter passed away on April 15, 2012 at the Tandet Center after a long illness. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 15, 1928, the daughter of Daniel J. and Louise Depperman Farrell. She was a long-time resident of Stamford, moving here as a child with her family. She graduated from Stamford High School and was a medical records specialist at Stamford Hospital for 37 years. She was a parishioner of Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church.
In addition to her career at Stamford Hospital, Mrs. Hunter was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving a wealth of wonderful memories for her family.
Mrs. Hunter was pre-deceased by her parents, her brother Edward, sisters Louise and Audrey, and her son David. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Everett, and her sons James (Jean) and Paul (Lorraine). She is also survived by six grandchildren: Bronwyn, Lianne Di Ubaldi, Patrick, Deirdre, Ian and Jessica and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Evan Gorman.
Visitation will be at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street on Wednesday evening from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at the funeral home at 10:30 am with Msgr. Surwilo officiating. Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery.
