Manuela Camargo Delgado, 89, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on January 12, 1922, to Manuel Camargo and Delfina Flores Valdez in Lockhart, Texas. Manuela retired from Memorial Hospital where she was a Laboratory Aide for seventeen years. Manuela was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Luciano Valdez and husband, Jose Hilario Delgado. She is survived by her daughters, Maria Josephina Perez of Corpus Christi, Eva (Mario) Canals of Corpus Christi and Mary Flores of Harlingen, Texas; son, Jose (Jessica) Camargo of Corpus Christi; brother, Pompeyo Valdez of Corpus Christi; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Christus Hospice team and the nurses at Christus Spohn Memorial ICU 1 and 4th Floor for the special care they gave Manuela.
Pallbearers are: Eugene Gonzales, Raul Delgado Jr., Adam Saldana, Nikolas Ryan Elizondo, Martin Villarreal Jr. and Frank Gonzales.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Eloy Elizondo Jr.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 26, 2011, starting at 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Taft.
Burial will follow at the Taft Memorial Park Cemetery in Taft.
