Margaret Hamilton

August 30, 1926 - March 15, 2013
HAMILTON, Margaret Allen, 86, of Thonotosassa, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2013. She was born August 30, 1926 at the Crenshaw Homestead in Coral Hill, KY, a small rural community outside Glasglow, to John Roger and Nancy (Crenshaw) Allen. Margaret attended Freed-Hardeman College where she met Clinton David Hamilton, her husband of 52 years, who preceded her in death in 1999. They moved to Temple Terrace, FL, in 1949, beginning a lifelong association with Florida College; then to Plantation, FL, in 1968. Margaret was a 25-year volunteer with the Ladies' Auxiliary at Broward General Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale, serving for a time as President and Board member. A member of the Church of Christ, she served the Lord wholeheartedly and was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was an outstanding seamstress and cook, and was well-known for her kindness, hospitality, and generosity. She attended numerous Rotary International Conventions with Clinton, traveling to many parts of the world with him and longtime friends, Bill and Doris Jean Hammontree. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, David and Lee Hamilton, of Hollywood, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Earl Bourquardez, of Thonotosassa, FL; and grandsons, Clinton and Mark Hamilton. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 2:00PM at the University Church of Christ, 14314 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa. Family will receive visitors prior to the service at 1:00PM. Donations may be made in her memory to Florida College, 119 N. Glen Arven Ave, Temple Terrace, FL 33617.
