Margie M. Bertling, 84, of Delphos, passed away Sunday evening October 7, 2012, at Vancrest of Delphos, surrounded by her loved ones. Margie was born July 17, 1928, in Delphos to Elmer and Josephine (Fuerst) Miller who preceded her in death. On July 3, 1948, she married James F. "Bud" Bertling who passed away December 17, 2003.
Mrs. Bertling was the mother of George Bertling (dec'd), Chuck Bertling of Bangkok, Thailand, Terry Nathanson of Delphos, Jane (Gary) Houg of Van Wert, Betty (Gary) Dilworth of Delphos, Daniel Bertling (dec'd), Marty (Steve) Mansfield of Delphos, Tom (Priscilla) Bertling of Scottsdale, AZ, Jack (Cindy) Bertling of Delphos, Glenn (Julie) Bertling of Lima, Anne (Rob) Watkins of Delphos and James "Buddy" (Marcy) Bertling, Jr., of Lompoc, CA. She had twenty one grandchildren, nine great grandchildren with one on the way; two sisters-in-law, Rita Daley of Lima and Ruth Bertling of California; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, husband and two sons, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Osting.
Margie was a homemaker, and for over 20 years she served as a receptionist for Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Orians Funeral Homes in Delphos and Ottoville. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos, with Father Christopher Bohnsack as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos.
Family and friends may call Wednesday, October 10, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home in Lima, and again on Thursday, one hour prior to Mass in church. A Parish Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
