Maria DeLaLuz Alonso, age 91, of Plano, TX, formerly of Laredo,TX passed away October 1, 2012 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born June 25, 1921 in Redwood, TX, the daughter of Felix Alonso and Ramona Campos Alonzo. In her later years Maria moved to Plano to be closer to her daughter Alma Vano who survives her. Also surviving are her two sisters; Hermelinda Colazo of Laredo, TX and Maria Del Cantu of Raymondville.
No services will be help in the Plano area. She will be transported to Laredo where visitation will be on Friday, October 5th from 4-9pm at the Jackson Funeral Home, 1410 Jacaman Road, Laredo, TX. The following morning, Saturday, October 6th, a funeral mass will be celebrated at 9am at the St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Laredo followed by burial in the Catholic Cemetery of Laredo. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution should do so to the American Cancer Society in Maria's name.
