Marie Akstulewicz, age 90, of Menasha, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013. She was born August 11, 1922 in Menasha, the daughter of the late Charles and Hattie (Mielke) Boehnlein. Marie married her loving husband, Carl Akstulewicz in Menasha. He preceded her in death in 1993. Marie had been employed for 25 years at the George Banta Company and a lifelong resident of Menasha. Marie was a member of St. John Catholic Church recently and former member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a graduate of St. Mary Catholic High School. Marie is survived by three step daughters: Jane (Michael) Schneider of Belleville, Illinois, Patricia Akstulewicz of Wadsworth, Illinois and Margaret (Roger) Boyce of Kenosha, Wisconsin. She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Joseph Boehnlein of Milwaukee, Mary (Joe) Schneider of Menasha, Peter (Joanne) Boehnlein of Kaukauna, and five great-nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Sylvester and Andrew and two sisters: Agnes and Viola. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha, with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. Friends will be welcomed at the church for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

It was simple and beautiful in its own way for Marie....the service represented her life. She looked beautiful and ready to meet God.

Pat, although Marie was your step mother you took care of her in her final years,making sure she was cared for and taking care of things she was no longer able to do just like a daughter would for her mother. My prayers are with you.
