Marie H. Maalouf-Akel

Marie H. Maalouf-Akel was born in Aita Al-Fokhar in Lebanon on January 1, 1931 to her parents Hanna and Nemreh Maalouf. She died on November 2, 2012 in Livonia Michigan. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Boutros Akel, her parents and her six siblings. Marie is survived by her two sons Elie (Nahida) Akel and Naim (Marlene) Akel and she is the grandmother of Peter, Carmen, Anthony, Andrew and Krystal.

Friends may visit Marie's family during a visitation in her honor on Sunday November 4, 2012 from 4 pm until 8 pm at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile Road in Livonia, Michigan 48152 During the visitation the Trisagion will be prayed in her memory at 7:30 pm. The funeral home is located on the north side of W. Six Mile, east of I-275 and Newburgh Road.

Funeral services for Marie will be held on Monday November 5, 2012 at her church, The Antiochian Basilica of St. Mary's, located at 18100 Merriman Road in Livonia, Michigan 48152. She will lie in state at the Basilica from 9 am until her funeral service at 10 am. The Basilica is located on the east side of Merriman Road, between Six and Seven Mile Roads.

Marie's family kindly requests that memorials be made in her memory to the Building Fund at St. Mary's.
