Passed away on November 12th in the comfort of her home with her family after battling PLS.
Born in San Jose to Peter and Maria Zaro, Marie attended Saint Joseph's grammar school, Notre Dame High School and Healds Business College. Marie was a generous, entertaining and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to all her knew her.
Preceded in death were the love of her life WWII Veteran John Robert Schmitt, who died in 1995 and her daughter, Marianne Wortel, who passed away in 2000. Survived by her three sons Ken, Michael and Mark Schmitt; daughters in law Shellie and Carole Schmitt; five grand children: Jacqueline, Jessica, Eric, Victoria and Matthew Schmitt; her brother WWII veteran Anthony "Zip" Zaro and sister Gerry Johnson.
A rosary in her honor will be held Monday at 7:00PM November 19th at Willow Glen Funeral Home, public viewing starting at 5:00PM. Funeral Services will be held at Saint Christopher's Church in Willow Glen on Tuesday November 20th at 11:00AM.
