Martha De La Mercedes Alfonso, 77, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 02, 2011, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Martha was born August 4, 1933, in Camaguey, Cuba to Santiago & Evangelina Almanza. She has lived in Port Arthur for the past two years and was also a former resident of Groves.
She is survived by her husband, German Alfonso; daughters, Martha Rodriguez and husband, Robert of Port Arthur and Deysi Alogna of Trinidad, Colorado; brother, Santiago Almanza of Camaguey, Cuba; grandchildren, Eric Lang and fiancé, Laura, Shawn Lang and wife Chrissy and their father Gary Lang, Richie Alogna and Anthony Alogna and two great grandchildren Kinsley & Abigail Lang.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 5 p.m... Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at 10 a.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
