Obituary
MARTHA TYRONE ASHFORD, 86 a long time resident of Clinton died of pulmonary complications in the Saint Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, MS.
Martha to her friends was a common face and at MP&L in Clinton. Martha had worked there some 29 years retiring after it became Entergy. She also managed the Hilltop Theatre with her husband. She was a Charter member of Mt Salus Presbyterian Church, having merged with Saint Paul Presbyterian Church soon to be the new Pine Haven Presbyterian Church.
She was born in Gulfport, Martha Frank Tyrone to Major Moxie Tyrone and soon moved to Mt. Olive, MS where she attended high school and later on to Drake University here she met and married her late Husband Albert Wells Ashford, Jr. They soon made their home in Clinton MS, where they became active members of the community.
Ms Ashford is survived by her two sons Hartwell T. Ashford of Clinton and Albert Wells Ashford, Jr. also of Clinton. She has three granddaughters that were the light of her life, Mandy Ashford of Santa Cruz, CA. Fallan Ashford of Clinton and Alicia Ashford of Clinton.
Funeral Services will be at Wright & Ferguson, Clinton , with visitation Friday from 5:00 till 7:00 Saturday 12:00 to 1:00 . Service will be in Clinton at 1:oo o'clock with interment afterwards in the Clinton Cemetery.
