Martha Dell Bowen Roebuck, died Sunday, March 18th at the Hospice Center in Greenville. A native of Martin County, she was born January 2, 1928, the daughter of Homer Bryant and Essie Mae Gurganus Bowen. Martha was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a generous friend and neighbor.
In 1946, Martha was married to William Russell Roebuck. She has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Robersonville since 1936 where she taught Sunday School for 25 years, served as a G. A. leader for 10 years, and willingly served in any capacity. She was a member of various clubs and organizations including the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was preceded in death by a brother Lawrence Daniel Bowen Sr.
She will be best remembered for her love of flowers and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Russell, daughter Phyllis Virginia Roebuck of Williamston, 2 grand dogs Ally and Lexi, nephew Lawrence Daniel Bowen and wife Gay, and grand nephew William Russell Bowen of Lake City, Florida.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church with Rev Delmus Ayers officiating; burial will follow at Robersonville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 PM at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville and other times at the residence 109 Dell Street.
