SULPHUR-Mary Ann Abshire, 61, died at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013, in her home.
Mary was a Sulphur native and attended St Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss. She was on the Church Bereavement Committee. She enjoyed water aerobics at the Spar, and spending time with her friends and family.
Survivors include her daughters, Tina Abshire Moreau of Lake Charles, Sherry Bailey and husband Ed of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Nedi Abshire and her significant other Catrease Davis of Sulphur; siblings, Margaret Quebodeaux, Herman Ardoin, Lennis Ardoin, Gilford Ardoin Anita Joyce Young, Elizabeth Ardoin and Paul Ardoin; grandchildren, Aaron and Emily Moreau, Ashleigh Stanley and husband Oscar, Mason Bailey, Justin Dubroc, D.J. Lewis, Katlynn Celestine, Haleigh Culbreath and husband Tim, Devin Davis, and Pebbles Thibodeaux; and great grandchildren, Brandon Stanley and Laewyn Culbreath.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ned Abshire and son-in-law Eric Moreau.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 2, in St Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss. The Reverend Joe Aquino will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday with a cursillo rosary at 7 p.m. and from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, all in the funeral home.
