Austin, Mary Elizabeth nee Wiggins known to family and friends as Elizabeth or Liz age 82 passed away June 10, 2012 at Community Hospice.
Elizabeth was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 31, 1929 and attended Landon High School. In 1947, she married George L. Wingate and together they raised three children. She was a devoted wife and mother who is dearly loved by her family. Up till the time of her death and for the past forty one and half years she was a valuable and much loved employee of the Red Lobster.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved mother, Maydell Cowart and is survived by her children Cathy Best, Brian Wingate (Lyn) and Gary Wingate all of Jacksonville, Florida. In addition, she had five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Donald Wiggins, Louise Wurster (Buck) and Sylvia Wilkinson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 14, 2012 in the chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
