Mary Lizzie Cornelius Blassingame, 85, of Dry Creek died Friday, October 19, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Ripley. She was born August 19, 1927 to Alvie and Lizzie Dee Cissiom Cornelius. She retired from Brown Shoe Company and was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Concord Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Walker officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
She is survived by two sisters, Delpha Cornelius of Ripley and Lula Bell Pickens of Nesbit, MS; two brothers, Buddy (Jerry) Cornelius of Independence, MS and Marvin (Jane) Cornelius of Ripley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Scott Blassingame; parents; one sister, Edith Mae Vick; and one brother, Earnest Sullivan Cornelius.
Visitation will be 5:00-6:00 pm on Saturday and until 1:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
