Mary Ophelia Murphy Browning, 82, of Tuscola passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 6 to 8pm at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 542 Hickory Street. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 10am at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with burial following in Rose Hill Cemetery, Merkel, TX.
Mary was a good, sweet, and kind mother. She always supported her children and grandchildren with school activities. Mary was a member of Ovalo Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Billy Ray Browning; her parents; and four brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Brock of Tuscola; sons, Ray Browning of Keller, TX, and Allen Browning and wife, Teresa of Abilene; brother, Pat Murphy of Madill, OK; sisters-in-law (who was more like a sister) Faye Murphy, and Mildred Holmes of AR; thank you for being there for Mom. It meant so much to her and our family. Mary is also survived by six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. Longley, Dr. Hazelip, the staff of Windcrest Healthcare Center, and her caregiver, Pat Cornwell.

KAY, I LOVE YOU, GIRL, AND I CELEBRATE YOUR MOM'S LIFE.........YOUR MOM AND DAD WERE TWO OF THE FIRST FOLKS THAT WE KNEW IN TUSCOLA. WE GOT MARRIED IN JANUARY 1975 AND THAT YEAR WAS OUR FIRST TIME TO SHARE IN THE FALL FELLOWSHIP AT YOUR MOM AND DAD'S PLACE........ALL THE COMMUNITY COMING TOGETHER TO VISIT AND LOVE ON EACH OTHER. JUST WONDERFUL MEMORIES ! I STILL USE A HOT DISH CARRIER THAT MARY MADE FOR ME, SHE EVEN SEWED 'GS' ON THE SPOON HOLDER. THE LITTLE THINGS THAT SHE DID TO MAKE LIFE SWEET. HEAVEN IS HAVING THE FELLOWSHIP AND GATHERING TODAY. THANKS FOR LOVING YOUR MOM 'SO GOOD'. I AM PRAYING FOR YOU AND ALLEN AND RAY........AND ALL THE FAMILY AS YOUR HEARTS ARE SAD AND HURTING.
