MARY ALICE WAREING, 100, of Kendallville, died on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012. Born Oct. 23, 1912, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of Guy Garlin and Rose Retha (Hart) Groves. She retired as a division manager at Sears, Roebuck & Co. after 25 years. She was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and St John Lutheran Church, Kendallville. She volunteered over 2500 hours at the V.A. Hospital, Fort Wayne. She enjoyed Family, traveling, golf, oil painting, and all crafts. She is survived by one son, John E. (Linda) Coleman of Fort wayne; two daughters, Mary Lou Cook and Nancy Lee Buckmaster, both of Kendallville; six grandchildren, John Cook, Jeffery Colman, Timothy Suter, and Kay Lynn Reed, Laura Miller and Charles T. Coleman; five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was prededed in death by husbands, John Coleman, Malcolm Rapp and Herbert Wareing; one great-grandson; one sister, Virginia Atkinson; and four brothers, Harold, Gerald, Lawrence, and Robert Groves. Service is 10 a.m. Saturday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Hospice of Noble County or St. John Lutheran Church.
