Matilda Avina went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2011 at the age of 75. She was preceded in death by her parents Rosalio Gutierrez and Lucia Reyna; son, Juan Avina Sr.; daughter, Anna Marie; grandson, Juan Avina Jr. Ms. Avina is survived by her children, Marilyn Tejeda, Mary Ann Avina, Margaret Kyser (Greg) and Martin Avina Jr.; grandchildren; Melinda, Christopher, Anthony, Ryan and Stephanie; great grandchildren, Crystal, Alyssa, Jaclyn, Lazet Rose. Visitation will begin 9:00 a.m. Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 for a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment to follow in San Fernando No.2.
