Agee, Mattie Mozelle Maier, 89, peacefully passed away on April 21, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late James Robert Agee, Sr, mother to James Robert Agee, Jr. Paul Daniel Agee, and Mark William Agee. She is survived by grand children Lynette Cabeen, Joanna Schendel, Becky Higgins, William Agee and Sara Catherine Agee, along with great grandchildren Micah and Lydia Cabeen, Nikki Larsen, Mitchell Simmons and Dekin Higgins. She is also survived by her brother Ray Maier of Duncan, Oklahoma and nieces Judy Easterwood Adler and Jennifer Maier Hinton and many great nieces and nephews. Mozelle was born Dec. 24, 1922 in Walters, Oklahoma and graduated salutatorian from Ahpeatone High School in 1940. She was a devoted member of Dayspring Presbyterian Church in Forsyth, Georgia and most recently at Young Meadows Presbyterian in Montgomery, Alabama. While in Forsyth, she volunteered at Monroe County Hospital and was a counselor at the Crisis Pregnancy Center. She was a counselor at Sav-a-Life in Montgomery and served as a teacher for Child Evangelism Fellowship for over fifty years. Mozelle and her late husband James were also active members of the Gideons International for over forty years.
There will be a memorial service at Young Meadows Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, AL on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. A grave side service and interment will be in Forsyth Georgia on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., EDT.
