Mattie Lee Filberth, 93 of Mt. Vernon, IL passed away 4:30pm Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Doctors Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, IL.
Mattie Lee was born November 26, 1919 at Salem, NM to Felix and Clara (Ealy) Wagoner. Mattie Lee married Dr. Glen W. Filberth October 9, 1943 and he preceded her in death in 2007. She worked as a physician's assistant.
Mattie Lee was a member of the Elks Club and United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, IL
Mattie Lee is survived by her daughter Janet Fryar of Mt. Vernon, IL; three sons Bill Filberth (Theresa) of Houston, TX, Bob Filberth (Luretta) of San Antonio, TX, and Dr. Jim Filberth (Janet) of Meriden, KS; and one sister Myrena Tate of Lewisburg, TN. Nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive.
Mattie was preceded in death by her husband, one son Dale and her parents.
Cremation rites were accorded and no local services are planned. Inurnment will be scheduled at a later date in Florida.
