Maudie C. Woods, 76, of Tekonsha, was surrounded with love by her children at the time of her death Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born November 11, 1935 in Hyden, Kentucky to Arville and Audrey (Bowling) Couch. She married Robert Woods on April 4, 1953 in Jonesville, VA. He preceded her in death.
She was a loving Mother and Grandmother who was known for speaking her mind. Maudie enjoyed playing cards and bingo with family and friends whenever she could. She also liked sports and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Maudie will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children; Juanita (Jack) Born, Robert "Woody" (Brenda) Woods, Sandy (Aaron) Hetrick, Margaret (Mike) Hopkins, Jackson Woods, grandchildren; Patrick, Tonya, Robert, Ronnie, Jaime, Kelly, Lindsay, Kasey, Matt and Josh. 11 great grandchildren, 1 brother and 4 sisters. Maudie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, son, Lester, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Though I only met her briefly, Maudie was a wonderful woman, and I am very sorry for your loss. Know that you are all in the prayers of the congregation at Girard UMC. May God give you comfort in this very difficult time.
