Vickie Dunn
John, this is Vickie Dunn, daughter of the late Robert and Patsy Dunn. I know it's been a few months since Maxine passed away, but I just found out. I was looking through some old papers and found a letter Maxine had written back in 2000 to my mom when dad passed away. I started to look you two up and it led me here unfortunately. I'm so sorry to hear Maxine has passed away. She was a wonderful person who will be missed by many. God bless you

Your family has my deepest sympathy for the loss of Mrs. Ouellette. She was a very concerned and helpful teacher and guidance instructor during my years at Bear Grass High School. She didn't mind taking the time to help you undrstand business or math problems if you were in her class. I graduated in 1976 and have occasionally bumped in to her in Williamston, she is always the kind-hearted and smiling lady that I remember from 40 years ago. Your family has my condolences during this time. Prayers also from Sarah Wynn Haislip

John, I was saddened to learn of Maxine's death as you came to Newton Grove
at the gathering for Jo Ann Williford. Maxine and Jo Ann were such good friends; however, we did not know about Maxine's passing. Jo Ann was sick at that time. You have my deepest sympathy. I wish we could have talked more tonight. Perhaps we can get together sometime and share our sorrow.

John,
I was truly sorry to learn about Maxine. The few times I met her I thought she was such a strong, thoughtful and "witty" person. What a great partner to have for many years. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I can't imagine how many high school and college students benefitted from Maxine's wonderful teaching skills. She is probably teaching a terrific math lesson in heaven right now. She will be missed!

It is with a great deal of sorrow that I heard of Maxine's passing. To John and the rest of her family, I send my heartfelt condolences. May the wonderful memories of her and her love of teaching keep her forever in your hearts. Maxine was such an important part of my youth from the first grade all the way to our graduation as part of the 1964 class of Williamston High School. After years of no contact, I so enjoyed reconnecting with her, meeting John and catching up at a class reunion several years ago. Maxine was always one of the top classmates that we all strived to immulate in our classwork. She was at the top of our class in all subjects which lead her into her chosen field, education, where she is remembered by many as the teacher who promoted all her students to strive to be the best student they could be. Maxine's contributions to her students will be a memorial forever. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Just heard of the passing of Maxine Ouellette. I worked with Maxine at South Creek (Roanoke) and at Bertie High School. She was a good math teacher and a good friend. I had not heard about her having any health problems. She and John worked hard for the school system and were committed to their church.
