Melvin A. Andrews, 66, of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek. Melvin was born to Zella (Southworth) and Art Andrews on December 24, 1946 in Charlotte.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of 27 years, his children; Anna (Shawn) Smith, Melvin AJ Andrews, Kellie (Mike) Paxton, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Melvin served in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He spent many years driving truck. He had a passion for working on cars, car shows, races, camping, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was very involved with the 4-H and training horses.
Services will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater with Rev. Carole Rojas officiating. Full military honors will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
