Melvin F. Breece, 89, of Hamler passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Oak Grove Healthcare Center of Deshler, Ohio.
He was born in Henry County on March 9, 1923 to Fred & Emilie (Moehrmann) Breece. On December 12, 1948, Melvin married Florence (Crampton) Breece, who preceded him in death on December 25, 2004.
Melvin was employed at the Campbell's Soup Company of Napoleon, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Deshler and The Hamler American Legion Post 262. He served his country in the Army during W.W. II.
Melvin is survived by a son Scott (Patricia) Breece of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and two daughters, Diane (Kimber) Williamson of Hamler and Rosemary (Fred) Sullivan of Maumee; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Larry (Linda) Breece of Ayersville, Ronald (Mick) Breece of Malinta, Donald (Mary) Breece of Hamler, Fred (Thelma) Breece of Holgate; three sisters Jeanette Behrman of Malinta, Loretta Long of Findlay, and Louise Kern of Columbus.
Melvin was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Breanna Breece; four brothers Harold, Ernest, Robert, and Willie Breece; a sister Martha Parker.
A celebration of Melvin's life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler with Rev. Thomas Smuda, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors accorded by the Hamler American Legion.
Friends may call at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday for one hour prior to services at the church.
The family requests that memorials be given to Peace Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
