Michael L. Katchkey, age 60, of Sheboygan, died Saturday morning, February 22, 2014 at Golden Living Center.
He was born June 18, 1953 in Sheboygan to Milton and Vera (Carfield) Katchkey. He attended local grade schools and was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, Class of 1972.
Michael was a member of Beth El Congregation.
For the majority of Michael's life he served as caregiver for his parents. After their deaths he worked at K-Mart until its closing, after which he began employment in maintenance at Sheboygan County Job Center through Great Lakes Training and Development. He also worked in maintenance at the Kwik Trip on Taylor Dr. in Sheboygan until suffering a massive heart attack and stroke on Thanksgiving of 2012.
Michael is survived by his brother, Jack (fiancée, Becky Howard) Katchkey of Sheboygan; his aunts, Ruth Choy of Sheboygan, Dorothy Josephson of Pewaukee, and Ida Hockstein of New York City; many cousins and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Religious Leader, Lowell Louis will officiate. Burial will follow at Sheboygan Hebrew Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held at the chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
