Marengo-Michael "Mike" Stempfle, 51, of Marengo passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at his home with his wife at his side.
He was born July 6, 1960 in Belvidere to Fredrick and Dixie (Dudley) Stempfle. On May 6, 1989 he married Anna Stefko at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marengo.
He was a lifelong resident of Marengo. He was the proud owner of Stempfle Construction. He was a Cub Scout leader for many years, a member of the Lions Club, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and vintage cars. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his boys and his family.
He is survived by his wife of almost 23 years, Anna; his sons, Michael and Tyler; his parents, Fred (the late Donna) of Oelwein, Iowa and Dixie Stempfle of Belvidere; his siblings, Kathleen (Bob) Schmidt and Steve (Nina) Stempfle; his nephew, Jake Stempfle; and his brothers-in-law, John, Gene, Joseph, Steve, and Karl Stefko in Chyzne, Poland.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm on Friday, March 9, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. A funeral service will be at 12pm on Saturday, March 10, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
