Mildred was born January 27, 1927 in LaCygne, Kansas, daughter of Mabel and Roy Smith. She was truly an extraordinary woman. She lived her life with fearless passion and unapologetic strength. She was a brave spirit way ahead of her time. She was a feminist and social justice advocate. Mildred believed in the rights of all human beings and never shied away from speaking her mind. Her love of travel and adventure took her to nearly every corner of the earth. She was full of energy, loved to laugh, and valued her friends and family above all. We can't even begin to describe how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard Alport; daughter Corrine Smith (Howard) ; two grandchildren Lauren Zolton (Mark), Justin Smith, and Howard Smith III; extended family and friends.
