Altman, Mildred Carroll Lynch, age 84, of Knoxville, passed away early Saturday morning at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Mildred was raised in the Karns community and was a 1946 Graduate of Karns High School. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, she began her career as an elementary school teacher. Most of her career was spent at West Haven Elementary School. She is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Wesley Builders Sunday School Class. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, R.E. and Edna Miller Carroll; husbands, Boyd S. Lynch and more recently, James J. Altman; brothers, Ralph E. and Allen H. Carroll and nephews, Eddy Allen and Buzz Carroll. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Larry Wolfe of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jennifer Lynch, of Orlando, Fl. grandchildren, Allison Paschel, Caroline and Andrew Wolfe; great grandchild, Crusoe Paschel; sister, Betty Duke and husband Bill; brothers, James R. Carroll and wife, Mary and Buddy Carroll and wife, Ferol, sister-in-laws Evelyn Carroll and Mary C. Carroll, and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family will receive friends 5 – 7 PM Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church with a funeral service to follow at 7 PM. Rev. Don Thomas will be officiating.
