Mona Lyons Anthony, age 98, passed away on July 11, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Joseph Anthony, her parents; Patrick James and Edna Hevron Lyons and her brother, Edward J. Lyons. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Anthony Barbaro; grandchildren Patrick James and Stacey Zundel Barbaro and great-grandchildren Rachel, Bryce, and Abigail Barbaro. She was also the aunt of Patricia Lyons Barbaro and the late Michael James Lyons. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, Mrs. Anthony was a retired Communications Operator with the New Orleans Police Department and a member of the Carrie M. Barthe and Grand Lodge of the Benevolent Knights of America. Thanks to Doctor Russell, and to the staff of Hospice Compassus. And a special thanks to the caregivers at the Covenant Home, where she resided, for their exceptional, loving care.
