Funeral services for Mrs. Glynn Odom Adkins 68 of Montrose will be held at Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Danville Friday afternoon January 9, 2009 at 2:00P.M. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Ken Brogden and Rev Steven Byrd will be the officiating ministers.
Mrs. Adkins was born in Treutlen County May 14, 1940 to the late Lanier Odom and Marie Elliott. She worked with Southeast Paper Company from 1987 to 2006 as a Secretary. After 19 years of faithful service, she decided it was time to retire to spend more time with her family. Mrs. Adkins was a member of Centerville Baptist. Her special interest was cooking, cross-stitching and reading. However, her most favorite interst were her grandchildren and her family. She loved her family very much and she will be missed.
Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by her husband William Rudy Adkins, Sr.; one brother, Kermit Odom; one sister, Gertrude Pope. Mrs. Adkins passed away Tuesday afternoon January 6, 2009 at Fairview Park Hospital.
She is survived by two daughters, Sherry M. Rowland and husband Tim of Dublin and Terry L. Carroll of Montrose; one son, William Adkins, Jr. and his wife Tonya of Montrose; five grandchildren, Brandon and Casey Rowland of Dublin, Callie Carroll of Montrose, Jori Adkins of Dudley and Darian Braddy of Soperton; one sister, Margaret Bailey of East Dublin, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home Thursday night January 8, 2009 from 6P.M. to 8P.M.
Pallbearers to serve at Mrs. Adkins service will be Eugene Rozier, Marvin Merritt, Alan Carroll, Billy Frank Curry, Randy Dominey, and Willard Heath.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donation be given to Hospice of Laurens at P.O. Box 1344, Dublin, GA 31040.
