Myrtle Mabrey Griffin, 87, of Henrico, Va., passed away Friday, January 4, 2013. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lewis Davies Mabrey; and sister, Margie Mabrey Whelan. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Herbert Wilson Griffin; two daughters, Faye Griffin Knause and husband Philip, of Henrico and Carol Griffin Claytor and husband, Robert, of Richmond, Va. and Wilmington, Del.; three grandchildren, William Griffin Knause, of Denver, Colo., David Andrew Knause, of Henrico and Andrew Boyd Claytor IV, of Blacksburg, Va. Myrtle was a member of Derbyshire Baptist Church and retired from the Roanoke, Va. office of Verizon as a drafting clerk. She was a faithful Christian, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., and where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 8 at 2 p.m. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park.
