Nancy Lynne Gore Taylor was born on April 11, 1943 at Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta, GA. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Manning Howard Gore. She passed away peacefully on November 21, 2013. She was a top honor graduate of Northside High School in Atlanta. She then attended Vanderbilt University and L’Universite Aix-Marseille in Aix-en-Provence, France. After college and a long-term affiliation with Rich’s, Inc., she was hired by her mentor, Anne Poland Berg as the fashion–media liaison in the Public Relations Department. Her daily job involved working with the fashion editors of both local newspapers and many local personalities. She was devoted to fashion icon Sol Kent and journalist Celestine Sibley. She was one of the co-founders of The Cathedral Pre-School in 1970 where she volunteered as a teacher, Director and Board Chair until she retired. In 1973, she became a licensed member of Atlanta’s interior design community. She was proud to be a part of the design community for over forty years in her home town working with valued clients, other designers and suppliers. Nancy was a member of The Junior League of Atlanta, the Cathedral of St. Philip, and Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She is survived by her son, Scott Taylor and his wife, Carrie of Atlanta, GA; her daughter, Ashley Taylor Kelly and husband, John of Macon, GA and grandchildren, Julia Taylor and Owen Taylor of Atlanta, GA and Claire Kelly, Jack Kelly and Scotty Kelly of Macon, GA; sister, Janet Turman and her husband, John of Atlanta, GA; sister, Claire Nolan and her husband, Geoff of Atlanta, GA; brother, Clark Gore and his wife, Susan of Atlanta, GA; and nieces, Lydia Hansen of Atlanta, GA, Claire Greenlee of Louisville, KY, Lynne Rankin of Atlanta, GA, Peyton Gore of New Orleans, LA, Rebecca Gore of New York, NY, and Streeter Nolan of New York, NY, along with her caregiver and companion, Carl Boles of Decatur, GA. The family would like to sincerely thank the caring staff of Safe Haven Brookhaven and Seasons Hospice for their love and generosity. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 25th at 2:00 pm at the Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30305, The Reverend Harriette J. Simmons officiating.
