Nellie Gurganus Ambrose, 87, died Saturday March 31, 2012 at the Brian Center in Windsor. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 1:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church with Rev Susan Harrison and Rev Bobby Fletcher officiating; burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs Ambrose was the daughter of the late John S and Hollie Rogers Gurganus. In 1983 she retired as a supervisor from Carolina Telephone Company. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by brothers Noah Gurganus, John Gurganus, Joseph Gurganus, Benjamin Gurganus, Mickey Gurganus and Bobby Gurganus.
Survivors are son Kenneth Ambrose and wife Willie of Williamston, grandchildren John David Ambrose and Kendal Shepherd both of Williamston, step grandchildren Debbie Brown of Charlotte, & Stephanie Parks of Canada, step great grandchildren Stephen Hopkins of Canada, and Kelly Brown of Charlotte and a dear friend Ann Gurganus of Williamston.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:30 – 8:00 PM at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence 301 E Vance Street.
