Nick V. Adornato, 90, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Italy he resided in the Syracuse area for 65 years. Nick retired from GE as an Engineer after 30 years. He was a communicant of St. Rose Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and formerly Knights of St. John at St. Peter's Church. Mr. Adornato served his country proudly in the US Army during WWII serving in the Pacific.
Nick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Dapice; daughter, Carol (Jerry) Culkin of Pleasant Valley, NY; sons, Vincent (Pamela) Adornato of East Bridgewater, MA and Louis (Andrea) Adornato of Hudson, WI; brother, Louis Adornato of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday 9:15 a.m. at PIRRO & SONS FUNERAL HOME and 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 411 South Main Street, North Syracuse, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Entombment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street.
