ALERS, Ofelia, 92, of Tampa entered into rest February 28, 2011. Born in Jayuya, P.R., Ofelia moved state side in 1982 and has been a resident of Florida since 1988. She was of the Christian faith and loved go to church, read, listen to music, watch movies, travel, go camping, and was active in community events. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tallie Holmberg. Survivors include her sons, Jose Jacinto Cordero and wife Irma, Elmer Cordero; daughter, Evelyn Cordero; grandchildren, Dr. Joehassin and wife Julie, Stephen, Irmarie, and Lisa Cordero, Schannelle Parker, Elbert and wife Dawn, Christopher, Gustavo, Dalianette, Janixa, Jarelmis, Jamilette, and Jalimar Cordero; nine great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Gonzalez Funeral Home.
