FORT WORTH -- Oliver Ray Cullum passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013.
Service: Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Interment: Will be private.
Oliver was born Oct. 29, 1917, in Whitesboro to Richard Ellis Cullum and Lucy Covey Cullum. Most of his early years were spent in Randlett and Temple, Okla., before he enlisted in the Army in 1941. He was deployed to the Philippines during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945.
Oliver married Sarah Norris on Dec. 24, 1947. Shortly thereafter they moved to the Fort Worth area where he was employed at Convair and the Fort Worth schools. He retired in 1986.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Earl, Jack, Riley and Irvin; sister, Alta Cullum; wife, Sarah; and one son, Tim.
Survivors: Son, Jeff Cullum and his wife, Liz Grand; grandchildren, Kendra Fowler, Cameron Cullum and Kara Cullum; and great-grandchildren, Karessa and Wayne Fowler, Kyler, Carsyn and Keaton Cullum.
The family requests a consideration for donations to Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County be made in lieu of flowers.
