Opal Riggs Amos, 94 of Van Buren, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011 in Alma. She was born November 26, 1916 in Williams, Oklahoma to the late Andrew and Gertrude Goins. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Van Buren and a Homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Floyd E. Riggs.
Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, February 28, 2011 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah Riggs Goodman of Van Buren, two sons Reverend Delbert E. Hodges, Sr. of Lavaca, and Timothy E. Riggs of Van Buren, her sister Gertrude Day ; six grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the funeral home.
