PATRICIA C. "PATT" (STIER) HIRE, 84, a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully to her Heavenly Home on Monday, July 16, 2012. She attended St. Peter Catholic School and Church and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1946. Later in life, she returned to her beloved St. Peter's Catholic Church. She volunteered at the Cathedral Book Store and quickly became the Rosary and medal specialist. She was an avid fan and expert of all things, such as Frank Sinatra, and big bands and attended countless live concerts. Her favorite haunts included L.S. Ayres, Glenbrook and every Hall's restaurant. She loved Christmas and made every last one special. "The family wishes to thank her friends and caregivers at Golden Years Homestead and Gibson Transportation for all of the care they gave Patt." Surviving are her children, Mark, David, Karen Ann and Greg Hire and Deb (Mark) Muesing; her sister and best friend, who will miss her, Karen (Dick) Magdich; grandchildren, Pfc. Jordan Moore, Kirsten Muesing and Robert and Christine Hire; and three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1983; grandson, Shawn Daniel Jackson in 2004; parents, Edward and Louse Stier; brothers, Jimmy, Bob and John Stier. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 518 E. Dewald St. with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Father Phillip Widmann officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road with rosary at 3 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
