Patricia Burch Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 13, 2014.

Patricia Williams Burch, 73, of Pooler passed away at her home on Friday, April 11 after a courageous battle against a lengthy illness.

Patricia was born to the late Wiley C. and Jenny Lou Williams on February 23, 1941 in Columbus, Georgia. She grew up there with her older brother Mickey R. Williams, and graduated from Jordan High School in 1959. Shortly thereafter she met the man who would be her beloved husband, Gordon Lynn Burch, Jr., of Phenix City, Alabama. Lynn and Patricia were married June 3, 1961, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Phenix City. They moved to Atlanta, Georgia shortly thereafter where Lynn began his successful business career and together they embarked on their journey as loving parents. Their first son, G. Lynn Burch, III was born on December 1, 1962, and was soon followed by their second child, Christopher C. Burch on November 12, 1964.

Over the course of their life together, Patricia and Lynn also lived in Nashville, Tennessee, Slidell, Louisiana, Sandersville, Georgia, Savannah, and made their final home in Pooler. In each of these locales – and anywhere she went – Patricia's sparkling personality, wit, generosity and loving heart blessed her and Lynn with many beloved friends that enriched their lives and created cherished memories. Patricia lived her life with joy and purpose, enjoying and sharing her passion for the beauty of nature, in particular the flowers she grew effortlessly and the various birds she found so wonderful. She loved sharing her life with the family's beloved dogs, doting on each from her loyal Labrador Miss Peach to Coco, her treasured and devoted poodle companion. Patricia loved the ocean and shared wonderful times with family and friends at the beach, especially beachcombing for seashells with her grandchildren. She and Lynn enjoyed memorable trips to beautiful destinations where they laughed, loved and lived, which is also an apt description of how she lived a life made remarkable for her and all those fortunate to have known her sweet spirit.

Patricia is survived by Lynn, her devoted husband of 53 years; sons, G. Lynn Burch III of Oklahoma City, his wife Michelle and their son Gage; Christopher C. Burch and his wife Carlotta and daughter Carly of Richmond Hill, daughter Christina A. Burch of Slidell, Louisiana and son Christopher C. Burch Jr. of Baton Rouge, and brother Mickey R. Williams and his wife Linda of Panama City, Florida.

A celebration of Patricia's life will be held on Wednesday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, 2794 US Highway 80 West, Garden City, Georgia 31408.

In lieu of flowers, it is the family's request that donations be made to Hospice Savannah, Post Office Box 13190, Savannah, Georgia 31416, www.HospiceSavannahHelps.org. Friends are encouraged to sign the online guestbook at www.fairhavenfuneralhome.net. Patricia's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and sincere gratitude to all of those of who have provided support, generosity and prayers during this difficult time, including Hospice Savannah, Savannah Christian Church, and her many dear and beloved friends.
