Paul Earl Abernathy, parted this life after a lengthy battle with heart and lung complications to join his Lord Jesus Christ on February 23, 2012. Paul was born April 11, 1941. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Alma Abernathy; infant sister, Mary Lois; numerous aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; brother, James Jeffrey (Cheryl) Abernathy; sons, Michael (Lisa) Racine, Patrick (Susie) Abernathy, Rob (Rella) Abernathy, Kevin P. Abernathy; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Paul attended St. Francis grade school, and graduated from Pueblo Catholic High in 1959, where he excelled in football, baseball and track. He attended Western State at Gunnison for 1 year. Paul was an avid fisherman and has continued fishing with several of his long time buddies from grade school. Rosary 7pm, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 St. Joseph Church. Funeral Mass, 10 am, Wednesday, February 29, 2012 St. Joseph Church. Interment at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
