Paul Milman, 83, of Orleans, MA died peacefully January 22, 2013 in the company of his family after a brief illness. Born in New York City, December 24, 1929, son of Harry and Ada Milman. He was a proud graduate and active alumnus of Tufts College of Engineering, 1951.
He was the editor of the college newspaper, and fraternity brother of Alpha Epsilon Pi. At Tufts he met and fell in love with his wife of 60 years, Lois Chase.
Following a short stay with U.S. Steel, Mr. Milman served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He finished a distinguished corporate career as President of the Pipe Hanger division of ITT Grinnell in Providence, Rhode Island.
During his retirement Paul served as a volunteer internationally with the Peace Corps, the Retired Executive Service Corps and locally with what is now the Hope Health Hospice.
Paul is survived by his wife Lois, and children, Hannah and partner James Marian of Manhattan, NY, Kenneth and wife Bridget Elder of Brooklyn, NY, Brian of Phoenix, Arizona, and Elizabeth and husband Stephen Christo of Mansfield MA.
Paul shared his passion for literature, music, Cape Cod's natural beauty, crossword puzzles, golf, and the Candy Manor with his beloved grandchildren; Briana, Eileen and namesake Paul Milman of Brooklyn, and Nicholas, Sarah and Evan Christo of Mansfield.
He is survived by his sister Florence Walker of Briarcliff Manor, NY and her family whose company provided Paul with much joy and happiness.
The family celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Parkway in Orleans, MA. Calling hours will be from1 to 3 PM.
