Allen, Pauline Clark, age 89, of South Knoxville, went to be with her Lord November 23, 2010, at Quality Care Assisted Living Center, Louisville. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a good mother and grandmother who cared for her family and others when needed. Mrs. Allen is preceded in death by husband, J.W. Allen; daughter, Linda Williams; and son, Arnold Allen; parents, Elijah and Bessie Clark; brothers, David, Cecil, Jesse and Elijah Clark, Jr.; and sister, Evadana Allen. Survivors include daughter, Carolyn Slater of Louisville, TN; grandchildren, Andrew Slater and wife, Robin of Little Rock, Arkansas, Benjamin Slater and wife, Cackie of Lewisburg, Tennessee, Mark and Michelle Williams of Knoxville, and Darrell and wife, Sandy of Oliver Springs; 4 great-grandchildren, Kate, James, Patrick and Charlotte Slater; sister, Pearl McCoy of Lewisville, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 306 Ogle Street, Knoxville, TN 37920. The family will receive friends Friday, November 26, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Dr. George Hollander will be officiating.
