Pearldine Shaeffer, 85, of Coshocton, Ohio, passed away on July 1, 2014, at Autumn Health Care Center in Coshocton. She was born in Boone, North Carolina, on November 27, 1928, the daughter of the late Grant and Octavia (Cole) Hodges.
She graduated from Keene High School in 1947, and was employed at General Electric in Coshocton for 34 years, retiring on October 1, 1985. Pearldine was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and enjoyed yard work and working around her house. On February 27, 1956, she married Orlan Shaeffer, who preceded her in death on August 3, 2007.
She is survived by her sister: Betty Jo Casey of Coshocton, her sister-in-law: Almena Hodges of New Albany, Ohio, caregivers: Kevin Casey, and Lisa Wilson of Coshocton, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. The family also gives special thanks to the staff of Autumn Health Care for their care and support for Pearldine.
Cremation has taken place and a public graveside service will be held at South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton, Ohio, on Friday, July 11, 2014, at 11:30am with Rev. Craig Redecker officiating.
