Peggy Ashmore Abood

Peggy lost her long courageous battle with cancer on April 29, 2012. She was born August 16, 1945 to Alva and Eva Mae Ashmore. Peggy held a Bachelors of Science from the University of Mississippi and retired from Michigan Farm Bureau Insurance where she was a Pricing Analyst. Peggy was an active member of Martin Luther Chapel, she was an avid reader and a MSU Sports enthusiast. Peggy loved traveling, playing golf and spending time with her friends and family. Her grandkids were her pride and joy. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 45 years, Roosevelt "Rudy"; daughter, Jill and son Benjamin (Misty) Abood; grandchildren, Isabella and Sawyer Abood and sister, Margaret Elaine Luttrell. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Carl Ashmore.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 4, 11:00 a.m. at Martin Luther Chapel, 444 Abbot Rd, East Lansing. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing and one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peggy's memory to Martin Luther Chapel or the East Lansing Public Library, 950 Abbot Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823.
