Peter Blasse, 88, formerly of Port Richey, FL died Dec. 31. He was born in Hillsborough, NJ. Peter served in the Coast Guard from 1943 until 1946 as SK 3C. Upon discharge, he worked as a supervisor of the Planning and Scheduling dept. at Johns Manville. In 1948, he married Mary Picheco and moved to Bernardsville, NJ. Pete served as Fire Chief and later as President of the Bernardsville Fire Company. Upon his retirement in 1987, he moved to Port Richey. In Florida, he served as Quartermaster of the VFW 4412 in Hudson and later as Adjutant of VFW Post 7845. Pete was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary, of 62 years, loving daughter Laurie, brother John, and sister Shirley Surace.
He leaves his loving family, daughter, Karen (Charles) Favorite, granddaugther Danielle (Robert) McDonald, great granddaughters Alexa and Amiyah, all of Orlando; sisters Rose Mary (Steve) Pellissier and Angela Blasse of Toms River and brother Joseph (Marie) Blasse of Largo, FL. Interment will be held at Florida National on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM.
