Mr. Philip Carl Antonio, 72 of Salisbury passed away on Sunday October 16, 2011 at Lutheran Homes at Trinity Oaks. Born on May 6, 1939 in New York, he was the son of the late Joe and Ida Viscione Antonio. Educated in the New York schools, he was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Antonio served his country in the US Army. His professional career was with General Diaper Corporation and later retired from Montefiore Hospital. His hobbies were photography, watching wildlife, and his dogs. He also was fond of cars and guns, and particularly of the New York Yankees.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Theresa Ann Antonio who died July 11, 1976.
Those left to cherish his memories is his wife of 26 years, Diane Herlich Antonio, to whom he married on July 19, 1985.
Daughter Felicia Antonio and Michelle Antonio, both of New York, Annette Dickerson and husband Ronald of Centereach NY,
sons Joey Antonio and wife Izadora of Ft. Mill, SC and son Philip Antonio and wife Pinky of New Providence New Jersey.
Also surviving him is a sister Victoria Platania, of New York and three grandchildren.
Visitation for the Antonio family will be on Wednesday night from 6:00-9:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral mass on Thursday at 2:00 also at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home.
