Philip J. Capurso, 98, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. He was
born in Rochester, NY where he raised two sons and a daughter while working
as a police officer for 27 years and then a home improvement specialist. He
was very handy and practically rebuilt his home in Rochester while still
finding time to maintain his own boat and involved his family in fishing,
hunting, water skiing, and boating.
He and his loving wife Mary of 72 years then followed their dreams of living their senior years on a sunny
Florida golf course in a condominium, and travel to see the country. When
not traveling, he enjoyed long walks, reading adventure books, collecting
golf balls, and joined his two sons riding along on their golf carts.
Philip is survived by his two sons, John (Angela) Capurso and Gary (Roz) Capurso; daughter, Janice (Richard) Kircher;
four grandchildren, Michelle (Donald) Barr, Philip Capurso, Mark (Alissa)
Kircher, and Bruce (Jody) Kircher; and his great-grandson, James Michael
Kircher. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from
1:00 to 2:00 pm at The Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, with a funeral following at 2:00.
Entombment will take place at Florida Memorial Gardens.
