Philip Carfagna, 90, passed away on Tuesday, June 19th at Clara Maass Medical Center.
He was born in Newark and lived in Bloomfield for many years. Philip retired from Clara Mass Med. Ctr as a maintenance worker and prior worked for Federal Pacific Co. as a machine operator. He proudly served in the US Army, during WWII and was a member of the VFW in Cedar Grove.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Anna (Sbarra) Carfagna; cherished grandsons, Sabino Galioto and Michael Benedetto and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Marietta Galioto; siblings, Anthony and Joseph Carfagna; Theresa San Giacomo and Elvira Bartiromo
Funeral services will be conducted by the Zarro Funeral Home (www.zarrofuneralhome.net), 145 Harrison St., Bloomfield, on Friday, June 22nd, at 9:15 am followed by a service at 10:30 am at People's Baptist Church, Clifton. The entombment will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 21st, from 5-9 pm.
