PHILIP J. COTRONEO
Philip J. Cotroneo, 82, of Filer, Idaho passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, July 3, 2013 at his home.
Philip was born October 3, 1930 in Oakland, California, the son of Antonio and Josephine Cotroneo from Rosalie, Italy. He grew up in Oakland, California and graduated from Oakland High School.
On May 4, 1957 Philip married Patricia Sereda at St. Leander Catholic Church in San Leandro, California. Together they raised 5 children: Matthew, Anthony, Philip, Anna and Lisa. Phil and Pat moved from California to Idaho, settling in Filer.
Philip was an executive for a glass container company for 37 years. He was proud of his wife and marriage of 53 years. He enjoyed seeing all his five children grow up successfully. After retiring, he served the community in many ways to help the hungry and poor. He was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Twin Falls, where he served in many capacities.
Philip's wife, Pat Cotroneo preceded his death in 2010. He is survived by his 5 children; Matthew (Theresa) Cotroneo of Twin Falls; Anthony "Tony" (Gina) Cotroneo of Castro Valley, California; Philip Cotroneo of Lebanon, Pennsylvania; Anna (Michael) Davis of Twin Falls; and Lisa (Brian) Anderson of Salida, California; as well as 12 grandchildren.
Philip served over 4 years in the US Air Force and was a Staff Sergeant. He served our country in Korea during the Korean Conflict.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 161 6th Ave. East, Twin Falls with Fr. Mike St. Marie celebrating. Military honors will follow by the Magic Valley Honor Guard and Idaho National Guard. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. E., Twin Falls with Fr. Mike St. Marie reciting. A viewing for family and friends will take place from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the Rosary at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial s be given in Philip's name to Martha's Table. Contributions may be given to funeral chapel staff or be mailed to Reynolds Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1142, Twin Falls, ID 83303.
