Allan, Phyllis R.
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend who died peacefully Wednesday, December 29th, in her 93rd year. Phyllis was born in Tredegar, Wales Oct 27, 1918. As a war bride, Phyllis sailed to Canada to be with her husband, Capt. J. Harvie Allan, in Dunnville, ON. Harvie predeceased her in 2001. Upon her arrival in Dunnville, she began an active life raising her 5 sons, being a curler and golfer, volunteering for Grace United Church (UCW), the Lionesses, Kinettes and many other worthwhile community causes. Gran had a passion for reading, Scrabble with the family, anytime, and enjoyed her bridge club for decades.
Phyllis is survived, and remembered lovingly by her children Jim (Jean) in Vancouver with children Morgan, Galen, Erin (and their mother Jean McTavish), Bladen and Kaali; Peter (Mary) in Waterdown with children James (Cardiff UK), Kim (Whistler), Courtney (and their mother Melanie) , Kyle and Emily; Philip (Valerie and her daughter, Madison) in Aurora with children Beth (Fort Saskatchewan AB) and David (and their mother Barb) , Scott (Barb) in Aurora with children Caitlin, Laura , and Meredith; Jeff (Karin) in Aurora with children Greg and Kristy.
